[Buyout]

<<<If Amtx earnings come out soon and are considerably worse than expected the 20.00 price may be very good near to moderate term. Remember WSTL had to quickly loan AMTX 5 million. In addition, a worse than expected number from AMTX could have dragged WSTL down substantially making the WSTL offer really pathetic.>>>

True, but if earnings come in better than expected --- remember, shipments got deferred last quarter into this quarter --- and if Westell gets knocked out of DSC after already losing BC and getting crumbs from GTE, then Westell can take credit for dragging itself down.

As for $20 looking good near to moderate term, your point is well taken. I've never been in the stock for near to moderate term, and it's the long term gain I'm losing --- or losing a shot at it --- and in that sense I'm disappointed.

I'm not selling my shares now because there's no sales commission when they're tendered. Even then, I may not tender before the deadline as I'd like to see the deal close in 1998 and keeping TI from getting 90% is the only way to stall. If they don't get the 90%, they have to get shareholder approval.

Just my take at this point.
