The cost is run by the fact that medical expense if now controlled by Medicare set prices. Which are way out of line because there is no "profit" standard in the system.

I am out here in my beard, sandals and white robe, pounding my shepard's crook and crying from a mountain top, for the system to be allowed to be run for a profit. But "Nooooh!"

I got my teeth cleaned yesterday at the UH Clinic school for $25. It's $200 here from a Dentist. I told the girls that when they got their license to clean teeth they would be forced to work for a dentist. They should be allowed to open a tooth cleaning shop the same why that a Barber can open a shop. It's Illegal for them to do so. The girls stared at me blankly. And why should you need a State license to cut hair, or do nails, or almost anything else?

This is but a minor example of how the old "Guild" rules tying professions to the Government to raise prices is still in force.
