"borrowing money to go to school is a big mistake."

Certainly since Bush collapsed the global economy and the American job market.

Brumar, > man, borrowing money to go to school is a big mistake.

What's wrong with that? It all depends on what you do with the degree.

I bet you that printer repairman graduated with a degree in humanities after failing out of pre-med or pre-law. Probably partied his way through school instead of studying his ass off.

I could be wrong, though. He might actually be a real sob story. But given his attitude of entitlement, I really doubt it, especially if that attitude was the result of liberal indoctrination that is so common in academia.

>> borrowing money to go to school is a big mistake.

I don't really agree with this as a general statement. I borrowed $3,000 on which I lived for a year while working on a graduate degree, and I would have to say it was the best investment I've ever made. But I don't think they had "school loans" back then; I went to a friendly bank and convinced the owner I was a worthwhile credit risk. And I believe the decision not to stay for a Ph.D., over a $250 shortfall in the stipend, was probably the worst "investment" decision I ever made. I could have easily borrowed a little more and done that instead of going to work at that time.

I think there are a lot of people who get school loans today who are uncommitted to the process. For those people it is a mistake, but when government hands out money there will be no shortage of people standing in line to take it.

I just think it really depends on the circumstances.

"man, borrowing money to go to school is a big mistake."

Did your mommy and daddy pay for you if you went at all???? What's the difference between a person borrowing to get a decent career and more money than someone borrowing to start a business. How many wildcatters paid back the money they borrowed when their drilling failed to find oil...???? How do businesses expand or in many cases stay solvent?????

What is your degree level and discipline.?????
