betty, I agree with you, including The idea that this fat ass child killer is walking the streets free absolutely incenses me. What I found odd was the outpouring of sympathy for the "au pair", which the media seemed to encourage and foster. Then for the judge to effectively reverse the verdict was just backasswards. If the jury verdict was good enough for OJ trial, it ought to be good enough for any trial. It's like the judge held a finger to the wind and said "okay, she's guilty, but 'the people' don't want the woman punished, so she goes free." Kinda reminds me of "Give us Barabas". DK

He overturned jury's Murder Two verdict, reduced charge to manslaughter, and let her go with time served. His arrogance, cowardice and bleeding heart liberalism is obvious for the world to see. He is the east coast's answer to Lance Ito! AFAIK the state is appealing the verdict but I suspect it is a long shot. She must remain in Mass in the meantime. Meanwhile the kooks came out of the woodwork in inexplicable support of her, and chased Eappen family out of their house with death threats. I saw one of these kooks say how her sentence reduction "restored her faith in the American justice system." Well, she has dismantled my faith in civilization! BTW, an honorable mention jerk award goes to that alternate juror making TV rounds saying how he thought she was innocent, how could the jury do this, yada yada. Armchair quaterbacking at its opportunistic worst! I've got to believe Barry "I'm 2 for 2" Sheck is laughing his little nads off right now.
