Dakota,
You are hopelessly out of the loop. Cisco's product matches up against the Max 4048, Not TNT. they should get up to the same density as the TNT just as Ascend increases it by 3X. If Cisco was taking high end customers like UUnet I might give you a point but Cisco(or anyone else) does'nt have a true carrier class product. X2 is getting crushed under a tidal wave of Kflex chips. Rockwell is dragging their feet on a standard because they have X2 on the ropes and are hoping to have a standard by default. And what "disgruntled" customers are you talking about? All I see are more orders tumbling in, and everyone I talk to who uses Ascend products says their the best. Ascends buisiness was impacted by the fact that their is no standard for 56k and buyers want to wait until there is. The sooner we get a standard the sonner we find out where demand is really at. If your hoping for a quick fix with a LU,NT buyout, don't hold your breath.
