No you didn't, but he could have easily had one to take your car and hurt your family---Only after that you may wish you were carrying. There is nothing wrong with carrying, most people who carry you would never realize it. The guy who who helped you. may have carried.----Peace

Mq is wrong, humans are not at all like chimps, although they are our closest relatives in the animal kingdom.

We have culture. We remember the past, and learn from it. We cooperate, plan for the future, and build things together. Chimps really don't.

They never built an astronomical observatory, even one as simple as a pile of stones. They never planted a crop. They never tanned a hide nor wove a basket. They own nothing except what they can carry. They can make simple tools but never knapped a flint. Chimp wrists don't articulate for that. The wrist is one of the things that makes us human. If you look at a chimp hand, it looks a lot like ours do. But they can't turn their wrists like we can.

But Mq is right that human beings are also animals, with animal instincts including rage and aggression and the desire to take what we want from others against their will. Mq is also always pointing out that we don't have to act out on those instincts. If we don't recognize that they exist, that doesn't make them go away. You have to know yourself in order to control yourself.

99% philosophy, such as it is, is predicated on envy. Civilized human life is not a zero sum game. People like Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Warren Buffet, they make other people richer, not poorer. Big corporations like Apple, Exxon, Boeing, make us all richer, not poorer.

You know that. So what's really the problem?

In the bush we do it almost daily. People here help because they have been helped before and know they will need a again.

In the rich countries, when the environment was tough, it was the norm. Now with the environment easy, people think it will never be them in trouble.

This started with the safety net plus safety apparatus government put in place: Policemen all over the place, 911, rescue teams and such.

Here where you need two spare tyres, and a good tool box, food extra water to go across desertic areas, you are in trouble you need to stop people on the road to assist you.

And the preto dismantle and repair trucks in the road side and put them to work again. It is amazing!!

In Canada muffler opened up out of Regina. I took the laces of my boots and tied up not to hang lose.
As I was laying under the car, my fellow traveller a woman stood in the curb, a driver made an U-Turn and came back.

Asked if we needed help. I said I was good. Stood up and told what happened and my emergency repair.

He said. "It won't last very long, but it will make to Regina"

"I still got my belt", I said. And we all laughed. It reached Regina making a hell of a noise!!!
