<a veil of innocence>? Good grief, Sister Shalom---what a conclusion. That's really strrrrrreeettching the scripture. Question: If Satan is in person himself, and he is a Spirit, how did he get his fleshly look. Also, he will be "beautiful" and how does that match with Jesus' "uncomliness?" Also what about the nail-prints? Don't you realize Satan has to "embody" someone? He is a Spirit. As resident theologian, explanation is good, but speculation can be dangerous. Jack

Kierkegaard puts his finger on perhaps the most important aspect of Jesus' parables. They were not merely pleasant stories to hold listeners' atttention, or literary vessels to hold theological truth. They were, in fact, the template of Jesus' life on earth. He was the shepherd who left the safety of the fold for the dark and dangerous night outside. To his banquets he welcomed tax collectors and reprobates and whores. He came for the sick and not the well, for the unrighteous and not the righteous. And to those who betrayed him----especially the disciples, his children who forsook him at his time of greatest need---he responded like a lovesick father. Jack

Shalom, you must know of course about the Holy Blood Holy Grail madness, with those who plan these things preparing to bring back a human presented as actually carrying the DNA of Jesus and Mary Magdalene. This spiritual ......words escape me, I'm not kidding, rages in supposed factual non-fiction best sellers, and you must have read them. I have. There is a turning up of the fire all of a sudden. I feel a compelling need right now for a thread somewhere inbetween this and the other, which is controlled. Highly controlled. I wish you would show me how to start one, or would you care to? I was thinking of "The Playing Fields of the Lord" or something, where people could voice their questions and talk about spiritual matters without any particular judgement, just simply discuss what has happened to them, and what they want to talk about, and just some place that cannot be controlled by the little mouth. How do you feel about this? Each time someone branches off, new people are added and the truth is expanded, as in Jesus Financial. But for the inbetween world, so far there are only two extemes, and even now the enemy moves to seal one off. I agree that this thread is way, way too heady for most. Ask God is too centered on analyzing scripture for those not even sure there is a God. What about one for that purpose alone? Where people can also be a little silly if they feel like it. Personally, I feel a need for a middle ground. Also, do you know why my posts splatter? There has been too much death from people I never dreamed of in the last few years. I just feel more like getting serious with the program now ever before since the very first of it all when it was more automatic than breathing.
