The Fall of 2008 was a nightmare but the truth was the one that cut the deal to save the banks and saved the world from a run on banks that would have caused a global Depression that we would still be in today was Hank Paulsen. Hank Paulsen was the true hero in preventing the total collapse of the global financial system. The big mistake he made was in not asking the Banks anything in return. As far as Obama is concerned, he did what any super smart person would have done in that same situation. Ask Bill Clinton if he would have done anything differently. As far as Obama campaign promises is concerned, he delivered big time. Look at what is happening in the ME. All the dictators are gone or on their way out. Obama is achieving our foreign policy objectives without getting our own people killed and without spending tons of money. He allowed our NATO allies to do what they are set up to do but all under US command. Whether you know it or not, we now have the respect of the global community with the possible exception of Israel. Israel is between a rock and the hard place. They are fighting for their existence but unfortunately their interest are now not exactly lined up with our interests. This is a real problem for Obama. We have commitments to protect Israel from extinction and he will keep those commitments but he will not do so by going to war with Iran and other enemies of Iran that American neoconservatives are looking to do. Obama has delivered but there are many in this country who can't see it. They want some radical Barry Goldwater type of solution for the far left.
