The dollar has lost 98% of its value against the things you care about, because you buy them every day, like milk, bread, gasoline.

Inflation looks pretty normal now to me:

Rather, our government has been stealing to increase the wealth of the top 1%, who hold all the levers of power in this country. Look no further than the divide between the rich and poor. Not only has it increased to the highest gap in history, but that gap is accelerating. The policies of Bush and now Obama are increasing the wealth of the top 1% at an unbelievable pace.

Listen MM I'm not a big fan of the Democrats but look at the Republicans. They are actually talking about raising taxes on low income people and cutting taxes on the rich. They are the ones that killed the unions, the only power working people really had against the corps.

Most of Obama's policies have been targeted at helping the middle class and below. Health Care, Consumer Boards, increased regulation of Wall Street, all fought tooth and nail, and some killed, by the Republicans. Yes he bailed out the banks but a depression wouldn't have helped income disparity.
