FWIW, HPQ is showing up in the Magic Formula screen. That's generally a pretty reliable indicator of value.

I am starting to disagree with you about NOK. I hate Elop (like you hated Apotheker ;)), but so far he has performed pretty perfectly. They did release Win phones before holidays. Now it's the question how much they can push the phones in their best brand-loving markets. If they can, they should have pretty clear sailing with totally new SW platform and much better SW development organization within Microsoft.

Android and Apple are not as unassailable worldwide as it seems from US perspective. Even in US they may not be super entrenched yet.

RIMM IMHO is probably in much worse position. Now they have to pick Android or Win Phone in a "me too" move.

No position in NOK yet, but I am thinking. That company still has some great assets in it.

No position in HPQ either. Still thinking too. :)

Hey, you're my favorite RIMM and NOK bear - what do you think about both of these here? Still "both toast"?

RIMM is trading way below book, but at approximately net tangible assets. The company is still quite profitable though sales and earnings are trending down.

NOK is below book too. Windows phones have been announced and released. Presumably Lumia acceptance and sales in Europe are great. They even announced the release of Lumia in US. It's announced with T-Mobile, which is not great since T-Mobile is also ran in the carrier space (I have T-mobile service personally, I like them, but coverage is not the best). NOK also has a huge chest of patents that are probably worth significant portion of the current market cap.

I bought some NOK today.
