Let me say that Greenspan cannot last forever. For all we know, because he is a goldbug at heart who credits the price of gold as an indicator of the level of inflation, he might soon be replaced. If I am not mistaken, he would be retiring at the end of his term. I wish to reiterate that as long as Slick Willy remains in office, efforts will be made to maintain the strength of the US$ and the markets. All bets are off once Slick goes, three short years from now! Also, for now at least, if the Asians sell their US bonds assets, the latter will be bought up pronto! So that All Systems Are Go!
