I agree.

What many do not know about the 60's is that we had a philosophy of trying to live modestly and environmentally in concert with what was best for the entire earth. We shunned conspicuous consumption and read books like organization man and the man in a gray flannel suit about people being forced to become automatons and living soulless lives.

We need to learn a beautiful sunset and pristine wilderness is as valuable as a cadillac and that the lust for power and status is not a good way to live ones life.

So most of we hippies raised our kids to value education and a responsibility to their fellow man and all living things as the top priority in life. My kids have enough education that they could go to work for large corporations and make 5 times what they are making, yet they choose to live modest lives so as to maintain their integrity. Both kids and both of their spouses.

And they are both very happy with their lives and their mates. And I am very happy and proud of both of them.
