Rich, I still maintain that Java is a toy language. If and when someone comes up with a working NC running Java, then I will be a believer

I'm a little confused by your comment Java being a toy language. You say you'll be a believer when someone comes up with a working NC running Java, do you not mean Java is a toy OS? I've heard plenty of negative news about Java as an OS, but mostly positive news about it being a programming language. Whether or not it will ever be write once, run everywhere language, has it not come further in that area than any other language? And if so (and considering how new it is) isn't that enough to warrant a very positive outlook for it?
