It was because the "telling the truth" became a constant din to the point that it not only sounded very political but it degraded the quality of exchange of views. We have had several of us, including y ours truly, express the view that if Obama had to do things all over again, he would do it differently. It is very impressive to see a US President think generational and talk about the importance of education, R&D etc. Those have fallen on deaf years. Look at those ass backward Senators who are now trying to pass a bill to retain military spending if the deficit super committee fails to reach an agreement. Where is the outrage for such a behavior. When will the American people rise up say that we want our tax dollars to not buy rifles and guns and give them to our 18 year olds to fight a foreign war. Instead we want to but lab equipment, notebooks, fund educational/history study trips in our high schools and colleges. And something else that I admire in this President is that as the brother of a teacher, he does have the moral courage to tell the teachers' union to move out of the teaching profession while at the same time exhorting Congress to increase teacher salaries significantly. This OWS generation are the ones who will administer our Medicare and SS in 10 years. You think we can expect them to administer them well when we hand them the keys and say "Here, you folks don't get Medicare and SS, we do and make sure you do a good job." So I would tell our generation, the "Baby Boomer" generation to truly connect with Generation X by quitting to view and deal with issues as "liberals and conservatives", "Volker vs. Bernanke" etc. etc. and truly take the bull by the horn and restore US glory through a sound educations system slanted more towards R&D to improve the lot on this Earth around the time when the 7 billionth baby is born. End of soap box.
