I would also just point out that when everyone is wowed by the 'productivity' improvements of the major corporations, it's basically just a calculation of earnings per employee. That has improved as much because of cost cutting and reducing employee benefits and salaries as much as gains from technology. That includes any training that was historically provided to get 'qualified employees' The situation is made worse by the fact that many 'qualified employees' are let go because they are older and expensive, and replaced with younger newbies who don;t have the required skills. The corporations want it every which way to their advantage without much regard for the workers.

And then there are those major corps who take advantage of the system and do things like have a 3 month revolving door of 'temporary' employees, gaming the system at those folks expense.
