Honestly?

My perception is that things are way worse than when Reagan took office. I'm not sure anyone can come in and solve this mess in the amount of time it took Reagan to jump-start our economy (which was about 4-5 years).

That's not to say we don't need a change of leadership.

Think about the real Un/under employment situation in this country. I've heard some people suggest the combined number is 25-30%

Think about the housing issue in this country. I've heard people suggest it's on par or worse than the depression.

Think about the banking issues

Think about the 14 trillion dollar debt.

Now - ignore all of those things and.....

Think about the amount of unfunded SS/medicare debt we have going forward. I can't put an exact number on SS/Medi going forward but I bet all the things listed above (combined) are peanuts compared to that liability.

I'm sorry - I'm a very gloomy gus right now. The upside is there are people with far better minds than I have on this thread so maybe someone will come forward and correct my thought process - I hope they do.
