He is full of it.

The pentatonic scale is used all over the place.

Chinese music was built on the pentatonic scale. Many of their string instruments play only the notes of the pentatonic scale.

Many folk songs from Europe use the pentatonic scale.

Nobody ever said the pentatonic scale was exclusive to "West Africa."

He is feeding his audience a load of bull.
