John, now that's one hell of a practical answer. BTW, some of my family members are doing exactly that. It's a good idea. Rents are higher than PITI now, so you can cashflow while you're doing it, in large part because only people with cash and real good credit can swing it. Plus, bricks and mortar, mortgaged to the hilt is a good place to be if a currency gets devalued. Your store of value is solid and your mortgage gets paid back with cheaper dollars.
