Research report:

I just read a research report from Alex Brown dated Nov 18, 1997 on WSTL. They are out with a stong buy and the report covers the GTE deal, which they believe is the "start" of the general ADSL deployment phase.

However, they are not ready to commit that much additional revenue will come from this until 1998. As well they mention that GTE ILEC is the big fish, and that while WSTL is in a good position to get this, it will have to wait until the regulatory issues get resolved and equipment offerings from others suppliers are reviewed.

You should secure a copy if you know someone at AB. I dont' think it a public opinion.

Regards,

Andreas: >> But having thorough expertise in DSL fundamentals does matter. <<

AMTX's expertise was with DMT ADSL/VDSL at the transceiver level. AMTX lacks experience with HDSL, 2B1Q, QAM, SDSL, ATM, etc which all fall into the DSL fundamentals. Fundamentally TI/AMTX will provide the BEST widge in the industry :

1) Westell will get it first.
2) at a discounted rate,
3) with integration help from T1/AMTX.
