Some of those folks are fools who don't understand what secularists mean by evolution The secular state has done more for securing the place & safety of any & all sincere religious worship than any other unfortunately it is the misinformed Pharisee who's life lacks the imagination to express acts of faith by any other means than the pattern fit of ongoing generational reeactionary "wars" defending outmoded dogmas and fully accept this . Since any demonstration of of the supernatural has always been seen lacking , reliance on those imagined & superimposed strawmen to give that militant Pharisee a sense of reinforcement of belief and cause to wage jhiads against modern discovery . Belief that finds no demonstration of itself or the higher power forth coming , it is necessary to create the illusion of such threats so in battling these windmills gives a sense of accomplishment . We create & idolize our strawmen just as easy as we created & idolized our Gods....think about it and you'll see how the collective mind does this . In short , discrediting Evolution isn't the issue but the demonstration of the strength of your integrity to grow is , as no manifestation of a higher power in the last 2000yrs has ever shown itself in any way known yet . It is just as true to say that core values of religion were part of the template of accepted higher ideals in the secular state but simultaneously those same routes to ethical ,just & fair governing naturally emerged as the world progressed . Evolution properly understood , is God talking to you thru countless eons ...it will astound & amaze you so try to listen up ! (And if that doesn't work listen to some Miles Davis ) Cosmic *Nature* ever changing ...

*others are cultural Christians, like ponokee, who don't believe in God* There is another exception and that would be the Mother Church/Vatican herself , that does have some of the finer scientists on the planet and who do embrace deep time geologic & fossil record ...and the general concept behind evolutionary biology . And she has stated this formally ... There are core beliefs certainly but there was Waco Texas too...we would sure be disappointed to find you support the latter but it would not be that much of a stretch . (though that was handled badly admittedly , but it is Texas home of all kinds of secular & religious hero worshipping mythologies coming out of their burning BBQ pits and oil wells and Alamos )
