Funny thing is, I think Newt was mostly made to recant his criticism of Ryan, but the Republicans had already gone totally silent on Ryan's voucherization of Medicare plan. I think they still want it, they just don't want to talk about it because nobody outside of the hard core thinks it's a good idea. Ryan will rise again, just not during the campaign.
