i missed that part. the TXN/WSTL PR made the (in principle) "multi-year strategic alliance" sound pretty soup-to-nuts.

by "sweetheart deal" i meant that WSTL would get favorable pricing, priority order fulfillment, and feedback into the design process for all TXN/AMTX technologies going forward. only my guess, as i hope i made clear. an easy bone for TXN to throw to WSTL.

assuming BCTel approves WSTL, WSTL would initially supply them with LSI-based hardware and transition to C6x-based solutions when they're ready. WSTL should be able to fulfill the entire contract over time as well and as profitably as AMTX would have, right?
