A yes_ "but_" reply is required here... only because of the way Morgan phrased his comment.

A considerable amount of wealth simply vanished, gone, not recoverable and can never be "moved away" from speculative real estate to semi fabs. That's the nature of inflation bubbles when they are popped... the apparent wealth of the inflated commodity dosen't move anywhere because for all intents and purposes (EXCEPT the need to repay the debt leveraged against it)... it never existed. So it will still take some time to work out the new Debt, lower prices for US commpanies selling there, bailouts of lenders, and Re-creation of wealth that's needed for a real turn around.
