It matters not. I'll agree completely, he was a scumbag.

Now that we have cleared that up, it has absolutely nothing to do with the point I'm trying to make.

As I said, I hope someday I'm wrong. I sincerely hope that I am completely wrong.

Apparently, all you have to do is download his speeches to your IPod, have a copy of his writings, or post a comment to your facebook page about him in order to qualify a plot as an Al-Awlaki. Who knows how much factual evidence was there to support the claims he was involved in planning on the other cases? In those cases, the crimes were already in the planning stage. He's guilty of knowing about crimes that were about to be committed and doing nothing to stop them even encouraging them, but he's far from the master terror planner that the authorities try to make him out to be. In reality, he was probably a valuable resource for the FBI in identifying new recruits for their sting operations.
