The resources would be stripped very quickly. And that doesn't even take into account how many people would be driven to violence simply for the sake of survival.

Have you read "One Second After," by Carl Forstchen? It's about events following an EMP attack. He presents a very believable scenario of the chaos that would follow a breakdown of society following a disruption of the food distribution system.

You don't have snow down there, but up here, I am always amazed at how fast the grocery stores get picked over whenever we have a major snowstorm and deliveries do not arrive on time. You can see how quickly people could start going hungry.

how many people do you know that love to go underground?

One

Can you imagine...

The problem with survival in an apocalyptic situation (EMP) will be that no one will know when it will happen.

Getting the 15 miles to your boat that is stocked with 'everything' may be difficult....or one's cabin in boonies....if you can get there, somebody else may already be there.

After about 3 days, killing will become rampant.
