My pneumonia story - back when Erika was little, about 2 or less, she developed a cough. Lynne always exaggerated health issues and I always underplayed them. I figured it was just a cold. Finally after 3-4 days Lynne convinced me to take Erika to the doc.

He examined her, asked a few questions, then said, "doesn't seem too serious, does it?" I reply, "no, seems like a bad cold." He says, "she's got pneumonia."

Boy did I feel like crap.

I do think we can help ourselves to get better by thinking positive thoughts......but I found out a couple of times, that no matter how positive we want to paint the story, sometimes we just have to realize that we are in God's hands....

I did have one occasion when I was only about 25, of ending up getting really VERY sick with a high fever, and bad kidney and bladder infection...hospitalized then for 10 days with a brand new medicine that time.....THe Doc said "WHY didn't you tell us what was going on before it got this bad>>>??" "We are just Doctors.....We aren't mindreaders....."

That was a big lesson for me at that stage, and I've never forgotten it....
