Ibexx << let the penny traders bail out for a few bucks>> If you daytraded a 2000 share lot (the size I usually do) and just caught 12 or so points of the move, you made enough to buy a pretty nice car. Nonetheless, your point is well taken.

Ibexx,

Thanks again for your long term analysis; it's probably what H & Q used, or something similar. I've got to comment on the day trading strategy, though.

I hold some long term stocks and then trade in them as well. I theorize that if I get caught in one, I feel more comfortable about riding it out instead of selling at a loss. Thus I just happened to be sitting on some RMBS this morning hoping to make two or three points. I had to go teach a class, and when I returned, I thought my portfolio summary had an error in it! I rode the trading position until the end of the day and then took my profit. I will be sniffing around to get back in.

Of course, you may be right in that I may miss the rest of the ride, but I am a happy camper for the moment, that's for sure.

It makes up for some of the investments in I made in the energy sector, which were supposed to diversify my portfolio and reduce my risk.

Regards,

MS

Ibexx,

I've had a long hiatus from this board, but I remember back at the beginning of this thread when you were pushing Rambus and you and I traded ideas a couple of times. I must say you turned out to be correct and I goofed back then. I watched it go up from the IPO to dizzying heights and promised myself I would buy when it dropped below $50 again. And I have - twice. Now I'm long. I still don't believe even the most conservative of estimates for revenues. But when I take those estimates and halve them, I'm still excited. So that's good enough for me.

Good skill (I hate luck, it's so finicky).
