We have six cats, which is into the crazy cat people category, but we have a very large house and a very large yard. Only one belongs to me. Two belong to Number One Son, one to my mother, the other two are generic household cats. I am fond of cats, as you may imagine.

Cats are very good company, if you like cats. They are very low maintenance, other than cleaning the litter box.

I vote for getting a cat for Erita.

As for local taxes, I don't really know how to answer. Publicly subsidized health care is not universal, except for people of retirement age, or very low income.

Maybe I could do some research to answer the question but I would rather not. I have one more day of work until Christmas holidays and intend to relax and otherwise coast until after New Year.

i am also approaching the 'crazy cat lady' definition
with four. we moved up here with one, and three just
sort of moved in over the years - the last one being
a beautiful blue russian someone left behind.

i would give her a pair of siamese kittens. males, from
the same litter. guaranteed they would even win over
mama's heart.

btw, declawing is not an option.
it is equivalent to cutting off your fingers at the first knuckle.
very cruel.
