IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 25, 1997--
Once Again, Linksys Demonstrates its Ability to Successfully Market its Award-Winning Networking Products with Japan's Fastest Growing Computer Retailer, T-Zone
According to Personal Technology Research, Framingham, MA (PTR) October, 1997, Linksys again leads 3Com Corp. (NASDAQ:COMS) in T-Zone shelf space allocation with 39.5 percent, as opposed to 3Com's 2.6 percent. Linksys, a leading provider of networking hardware solutions for the small and medium business (SMB), and small office/home office (SOHO) markets, announces a new international agreement with Japan's leading computer retailer, T-Zone. This new agreement expands Linksys' product distribution to the growing Japanese market, placing product in 39 T-Zone stores throughout Asia; this will amount to over 2.5 billion Yen in incremental sales for both T-Zone and Linksys over the next two years. T-Zone, a subsidiary of ADO Electronic Industrial Company Ltd., will shelve selected products from Linksys' Instant Ethernet and Instant EtherFast lines of 10BaseT and 100BaseTX LAN and PC cards, in addition to Linksys' compact hubs. The agreement is an initial step toward the formation of Linksys Japan, which is expected to expand with further lease business, as well as formulate a strong local base for further distribution business throughout Japan and the rest of Asia. "The Japanese market is very technically advanced, and we are excited to be partnering with T-Zone, the fastest-growing computer retailer in Asia, enabling us to solidly penetrate this demanding market segment," stated Victor Tsao, Linksys president, and chief executive officer. "This also gives us the opportunity to bring our award-winning success to the Asian market."
