What fun this is! We get to play with numbers and you are going to teach me all about them. I was saving us time. PSR is a pretty silly measure when the money does not all go to DR. Remember the resellers! Of course i was not giving you a price to earnings ratio either. YOu are like a little computer I see. All jargon. I gave you numbers all of which are reasonable (and remain so). If DR offers a price cut on product they can hardly ask telsource or whomever to pocket less so of course, net, less money would go to DR and margins would suffer. YOu will really have to forgive me if it is not pristine usage, my friend, but I could care less. It is only the money that goes to DR that I care about so I gave you the meaningful psr. Sorry to make you all confused and make you go off with price to earnings of 7!! Sorry to get you confused. No of course that is not what I intended. YOu are too clever by half! BTW EVERY function in the books so long as the are continuous and differentiable can be LOCALLY approximated by a straight line. And that is what we are talking about here (hint think timeframe) Don't be such a smart ass trying to teach me math -- it will not do!

The point of course is that sales will mount up quickly.

ps (HINT you know like in the back of the books) The numbers are made up. I thought you might get as much by the degree of precision but I see that you have a lot of confidence in me. The feeling is not mutual.

PSR is also a TLA for Pounds per Square Rastafarian so it's obviously in your interest to define a context prior to making any assumptions about the reader's knowledge. Speaking of which, you suggested that Ignacio take a course in remedial reading. Why not some remedial reading versus a course on it?

Hey Drakes: seeing as you are liable to have impressed some out there who do not know any better with your bs (val don't be such a loser) I thought it would be fun to engage a little exercise. You want precise let us have it then! What do you say! In case I did not make myself clear before I will say it again. I do not expect a breakeven situation for at least two quarters. So you want numbers -- let's do the math. Hey thread give him some time to find a friend who knows something about anything related to numbers before you help him out but then chip in by all means. The answers await you if you should need them. It did not take me long to find a decent model of the situation but the thing is that you need to solve a differential equation. Other than that you can sit there and calculate month by month. If you make a mistake you will then have to start all over again. Remember be precise! So here it goes:

We have a situation of a linear increase in the number of salesmen of about 20 per month with a 1 month delay (say) for training. Once they are trained let us suppose that they set up an average of 0.5 systems (8 port) per month in new companies. Then (for the time being) let us suppose a 100% conversion rate. That is all the trial systems are actually bought. The trick of course is in selection of companies. Also it is my understanding that resellers are working on getting rid of the return policy so it is not a bad assumption. Fine then. Let us be conservative and assume that at the end of the period in which a system is bought the chances that they will go to more ports are 1 in six and that on the average they get 3 times as many ports the next time around. From an 8 port to a 24 port say. This is a well posed problem. You do not need any further info and it matches current conditions to a t. Then the question becomes how many systems will be sold after 1,2,and 3 years. Let us define a system an 8 port. A 24 port would then be 3 systems. Ok? Simple eh? Show us your math prowess then! Hint the differential equation has two terms and that creates just the smallest of wrinkles in trying to solve it. Have fun!

I tell you what when you get done you and I work on putting together a complete model of the financials of race and we sell it to them. Of course I have no need of you to accomplish this task in a realistic fashion but I have this feeling that the same will not be true for you. We shall see!
