Did Barney Frank invent CDOs? Did Barney Frank do all the slice and dice securitization of mortgages that miraculously turned low grade debt into high grade? Did Barney Frank collude in that operation by giving the purveyors of said slice-and-dice crap the bond ratings they desired? Did Barney Frank personally tell Bear Stearns and Lehman Brothers to invest their capital in this crap? If so, he really is a master of the universe, doing his handiwork through a hand far more invisible than Adam Smith could ever have conceived.

Or maybe Barney Frank is just a scapegoat for the propaganda arm of the Republican party. That would be too simple though. Barney Frank, secret master of the universe, makes a lot more sense.

<<<Name one other single player in the fiasco more important than ole Barney>>>>>

Bush wanted more housing for the poor too - should he be blamed to then? Why in the world would you ever think Frank had that kind of power?

But let me answer your question; Alan Greenspan! His role was humongous compared to Frank. Nice to look around for a scapegoat that you can peg as evil but by blaming Frank you lose credibility in my eyes in understand what went wrong.
