I noticed that sentence too and my mind ran through this thought.

There are some who are accusing Obama of redistributing wealth. But if you look at the effect of redistribution, there is wealth being sprinkled across the world. I say sprinkled because the workers in these countries particular in India and Vietnam (according to my Vietnamese acquaintance) are not making that much of money as the US capitalists are by taking their jobs to those countries. So if the capitalists are put in charge of wealth distribution, historically they have done so with a very large degree of imbalance. So I am all for the Govt. doing so, because that is an instrument that we own.

I do not begrudge the spread of wealth and improved standard of living due to globalization. But when I see that occurring at the expense of the common American and to a unfair advantage of the American capitalist, it causes me concern.

And lastly,, our young population should realize that things will not come easy for them anymore and they will have to compete with the world. They are not realizing it as yet. The OWS movement which primarily comprises of youths should focus their demands on the industry and Govt. to spend more on schools and R&D which I believe Obama has been advocating. He is the best example of what education can do. Those theories of social scientists about turning out good kids by both parents is bunkum. For if that were so then two single mothers could not be raising two Presidents purely by ensuring that both of them had a good education.
