Good post and "sprinkled" is a much better word than the phrase "trickle down". Because it implies intent and a very light dose. The corporations are the great beneficiary of all the data we have these days, they can decide in a flash where and when to use the cheapest human resources and sprinkle their meager gold dust. I think the end result is the emerging markets folks gain a half ounce of gold for every American that loses a pound of gold. And the corps keep the balance.

The powerful of the world certainly have the workers snookered, on every continent. I'm not sure how that changes. World wide unions? Unlikely, workers are too competitive. Something will come up someday.
