Yeah, and DUV steppers might be 60% of tool sales, but how would you know from that forecast?

Yes, their equipment sales look like they will be lower. Copier and camera sales, that it.

Canon Equipment Sales... That's for this year, '97.

We all know Canon had trouble building the steppers this year. Besides the manufacturing hurdles, maybe their customers were waiting for the Cymer laser stepper instead of buying the older tools? Could this, in fact, be bullish for '98? Once the product transition is out of the way, sales can grow.

I believe they are talking about camera(etc..) sales in Japan and Asia.

I don't believe they're referring to state of the art tech. With CYMER going on record saying they see strong revenue for the next two Q's, don't you think manufactures have time to work out the normal (bugs, complecations etc..)

What do you make of AMAT's comments regarding strong demand etc.. It seems like CYMI, customers are ordering the product because they are testing etc.. and once the systems are working at capacity they will increase orders and manufacturing. It appears as though we are right in the middle of the transition, waiting for the manufactures to get it together and sell their systems to clients. With such strong demand, how long before we hear that DUV is ready to roll in mass quantity? With that analyst upgrades etc... 3-6 months???

Your the expert! :-)
