A key difference between Mirasol demo units and launched product might well be the front lighting mechanism. Front lighting channels likely degrade outdoor viewability. Obtaining balance between those two viewing scenarios is likely the challenge that remains.

Again, the color will never be great quality, but reading a magazine like USA today outdoors is a big plus, and I guarantee the colors are far superior to all the LCDs outdoors. I certainly don't see myself dissatisfied because they look washed out. And viewing angle? I dont want anyone reading with me. I've had a tablet for over a year and I'm always right in front of it. Why would I want to view this at some kind of off angle. If you want several people to view a video or a picture this is not the product. This screen is for a simple, one man device for reading and surfing the net, convenient and goes anywhere, like a newspaper, the color quality is not that important.
