The Republicans are opposing Obama in the Congress because as they put it and I paraphrase: Obama's budget will increase the deficit. Now we have Romney whom they support and as this Reuters post suggests, Romney's budget will also raise the US' deficit. So I wonder why they would support Romney but oppose Obama. Is this what they call politics? Then they better change since the American people are smart enough to see through their pranks.

to challenge the/a President with political revenge for something he does or doesn't do and I just wanted reassure you that is the how the game is played here and has always been played here and the players understand this.

However, this understanding of our system you seemed to lack. He's a President of a particular Party and viewpoint (and not Pope). It's OK to challenge that (within the confines of a certain decorum).

For starters: I will say that there are challenges and there are challenges? The disabled in wheelchairs storming DC or even those who are opposed to KXL who threatened Obama last summer with political consequences are very different from the richest, most powerful and connected lobby in our society, no?

Throw in some racist machismo that a Black man with a Muslim name is standing between them and more billions? I think we're all old enough to know whose threats are more jarring, haunting and down-right frightening and concerning re: the physical well-being of our POTUS and his family. Imo....
