How does this "institutional racism" manage to selectively avoid the NBA, NFL, MLB, and other college and professional sports? Why do most sports embrace Blacks in overwhelming numbers, but the remainder of America mysteriously shuns them as you suggest? Good question, and I will predict that nobody gives an answer. BTW, I would include the US Govt Postal Service, and include municipal transportation departments for bus and subways, and other government agencies such as Driver License facilities, Social Security and big City Hall departments. There are probably dozens of other examples, but somebody is sure to point out something like Good Humor ice cream trucks, and say that they are all lily white or something stupid.

You really are kinda dense, eh? I may disagree with those who posit that "affirmative action" is still necessary in this society....but there is no disputing hundreds of years of institutional racism existed in this country.... As for your example...one might take the preponderance of blacks in sports as evidence of limited opportunity for blacks which some would argue still exists in this society as college and professional sports seems to be the only way out of the ghetto for many.... J.
