Hal,

Today's Wall street journal has a piece about SONY Corp, and their desire to get in on the digital revolution. It says that they have retained Blackstone Group, an investment-banking concern, to help review possible new acquisitions in the converging media and technology businesses.

1. As the article states, SONY is one of the world's leading makers of television sets.
2. They missed out on the first wave of product development for the internet.
3. Sony wants to jump-start its efforts in the next round of interactive services to consumers' homes.

My question to all,

Would AMPEX be a good acquisition for Sony, considering the products and patents they have?
