John, who knows, but why not? Let's everybody email Sony and Blackstone & send them the URL for Ampex home page and this thread and type sweet nothings into their machines.

John, I don't know. Have owned several stocks that were taken over - a function of value - but it is never anything you can count on, and we would all make more money if Ampex discovered and sold the value in those patents itself.
The stock, as I have said, seems cheap to me here. I have this sneaky hunch that the shorts at this level are missreading the convertibles. But whether any of AXC's efforts to grow will work out - well i'm neither optimistic or pessimistic. I simply do not know. Need a little real evidence at this point.
If there is any kernel of truth in Paul's peculiar obsession with the decline and this board it would seem to me to be the old saw that when things begin going wrong for a company they often keep going wrong for an extended time. When they turn to the positive, that usually sustains for a lengthy time too. Hope that turn comes soon for AXC. It has been a rough year in terms of return on litigation and R&D investment, and in terms of DST growth. And of course in terms of initial KM hopes and stock price. I do know that if revenues ever actually begin to rise, profit growth will be brisk for this lean company, and their potentials will multiply.If.
