Excellent points John. If you look at Compaq's performance since announcing earnings, it's been dismal, and they have been saying all the right things. Some expected a pre earnings Dell runup, so far it's going the opposite way in a tech market that has picked up a bit. Many are now talking about a post earnings runup, I hope they are correct, but based on CPQ's performance after earnings...............

John

Maybe these stocks just need a rest after a good year, in the long run if they continue to deliver they will continue to do well. Short run - it's very hard to call, although I must admit Hank has been pretty accurate..

John,

I was reframing from posting today but after what you just said I have to say AMEN! You are a very very smart person by diversifing!

I'm going into my quite period before DELL's earnings are announced like DELL does, even though DELL may report great earnings I believe the trend is still down and the earnings will not effect the trend! Look at AMAT today after reporting better earnings than est. and an up day in the market and the stock is down! Cpq did the same thing after they announced, so I see DELL doing the same thing! Remember the trend is your friend if you are going with it!

In these days of extemely low inflation 10-25% is going to be BIG returns. We need to adjust to this and I think this turmoil is just that - the adjustment.

John,

>> Anyone think Dell will double this year?

It already did. Further I agree with your posting. Although
10 to 25% seems a little bit too pestimistic.

We'll see.

John,

Tried to E-Mail you and it was returned saying it was undeliverable, but would try for two more days and we would not have to do anything! You might check out your E-Mail!
