I'm so glad you said what you did about Brooks. I have a similar feeling. I start to feel that I have misjudged the man in his opening paragraphs and then he ends up just as I always thought of him.

And so I don't read him. >>> I agree with your characterization of Brooks. I read and watch him on PBS News Hour to get a sense as to where centrists ( and even including Obama) are being mislead. I use him as a barometer. All the other RW analysts and commentators eg, Krauthammer, Wills, Kristol, Ben Stein, Matt Drudge, Limbaugh, etc. basically make the same points but are not nearly as clever.
