Richard, it is true that valuation is determined by all future cash flows. The billion dollar question is - what are those cash flows? I don't think even the management can predict how the company will fare a year from now, the analysts certainly cannot. That is what is driving the price of Seagate right now - the uncertainty. It may be clearer after management presents their restructuring, but I would expect the stock to trade lower until that day.

I like the company for the long run, but just sold my stock for a tax loss. I will reconsider entering in 30 days. Not that I can time my entry - just needed the losses.

By the way, if you have an estimate of those funture cash flows please post them. I would be very interested.
