I agree completely with you, but I'm not getting into a p1$$!ng match with tejek.

For what it's worth, I think the video and the ethic that it depicted was reprehensible and the soldiers should get their arse chewed big time.

But I don't think it rises to the level of a war crime. Tejek suggests there might be retaliation against American soldiers, and dollars to donuts THAT WOULD be a war crime. So he's partly right.

Personally, I'm sad they did that. Most of our Military is WAY above something as trashy as that.....BUT to be punished for it.....NO WAY!

Panetta has a huge problem…an idiotic problem. He should never have called for punishment.
Command influence in matters pertaining to the UCMJ is strictly forbidden, and reason enough to require the dismissal of charges.
You can bet the defense attorneys will be all over that if it comes to a court-martial charge.

Panetta best get used to seeing peckers in what most consider inappropriate situations. He forced the creation the gay armed forces.

From some of what you have written tejek, you'd want their "butts kicked hard" even if they did nothing but just stand there....

How do you think this peeing contest got onto youtube........some Taliban was filming the event with his iPhone? Its clear they staged this little exercise for public viewing.

IF Bush endured what he did at the hands of the Left because of Abu Ghraib, then Obama should have the same h*ll extended to him because this happened under his watch.....

I don't disagree but how do you know when it happened? I have not seen a time stamp. Have you?

Personally, I'm sad they did that. Most of our Military is WAY above something as trashy as that.....BUT to be punished for it.....NO WAY!

I disagree. I think the US military has some serious problems............recruits are getting raped, hazed and treated harshly......events that have led to the death of some recruits. Since 9/11, there have been a number of reports of torture, sexual harassment, and over the top brutality of prisoners. The actions of these jerks put the lives of the good soldiers in danger. Its unacceptable behavior and needs to stop. In addition it violates the Geneva Conventions, of which the US is a signatory.

Would you think the same if that video, released somehow, was an outtake? And the real one, the first take, was with two women? Would that be more or less criticized? Was the video criticized in part because women were not allowed to participate in it?

What if the second take and its release we're a coverup of the original with 7 soldiers?
