What is baffling to me is how quickly everyone forgets how Autocracy takes hold and how quickly Americans are to give up the foundation of those freedoms.

You're right. At times Americans are too quick to give up their rights.........but how the hell is voting for R. Paul preserving those rights? After all, the dude doesn't believe in the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Besides what tejek has asked of you, I would like to ask why you think it is OK for the US President t do to citizens of other countries that he shouldn't be doing to his/her own citizens.

Obama is the first Democrat in a very long while to shit on our civil liberties, and just because he's the man you all voted for, you give him a pass.

I haven't given him a pass. I don't think many others have.

So what exactly are you doing to get back your freedoms? Maybe we can mimic your actions.

Due to the explosion of technology - we're doomed to live in a Big Brother type state that George Orwell couldn't have been able to dream up.

Police in NYC in conjunction with the defense dept. are testing a system that detects concealed weapons on a person up to 12 feet away. They hope to expand the range to 80 ft., and mount the system on police cars that will be able to just drive down a street and ID all the people with concealed weapons.

Police already have a system in use in my city that auto-scans all the licence plates and the vehicles in front and in back of a police car and runs them for warrants and violations, flagging the cop driving when one is targeted and telling him which vehicle it is. They also set these systems up on random roads and just scan all vehicles going in both directions, pulling over violators and fugitives.

Brain research is nearing being able to not only positively determine when a person is lying, but to actually decode and determine what a person is thinking! Authoritarians will LOVE those two!

Resistance is futile!
