Brian, dropping disk drive prices are only an advantage if you don't have a ton of the older pricey ones on hand. Dell may have their inventories under control. Muei didn't; GTW may not as well. Recently (meaning during prior reporting periods) GTW had been letting its inventories build. I f that's been happening lately, they are probably in trouble not only with drives but also cpu's..

I'm wondering if one of the reasons that GTW hasn't dropped their prices is because of an inventory problem.

On Wall Street Week tonight, the CEO of CPQ said their market share in the under $1000 dollar segment is approaching 50%. Also that most of the new customers are first time buyers. (He might have said many, but I think it was most.) IMHO, GTW has blown a significant opportunity. They probably missed not only the original sale, but the upgrade as well.

brian, i'm impressed with your ability to re-analyze a situation and make new decisions. it will lead to a lot of profit for you. 90%+ of people can't do that.

muei announced they will report crap eps. this isn't just gtw.

good luck...
