I'm all for it as long as it is truly free. No one involved should be paid a dime.

If it's going to be free, educators are going to have to volunteer their time.

<<So is everyone on this thrread for free education frrom pre school to PHD>>>

Welllll, how do you pay for that? If education is free through a Phd, the money flowing into schools of higher eduction from gifts and endowments goes away.

Education MUST be funded at the State level. To do otherwise makes it another political ping pong that fluctuates with those in power. Do you want Alaska's education curriculum being set by a Newt Gingrich from Georgia for instance? As a nation we can't come together on health care or the budget - how will we ever do better with education? I don't want creationism taught in my schools!

No, there is no such thing as a free lunch - somebody pays- you just want someone else to foot the bill.

PS I fixed your typos for you

none of it should be free.

first, government should have stayed completely out of education.

if education wasn't free, it would be very cheap. by paying for it ourselves, we could demand excellence. by now, software programs would be teaching the hard sciences better than teachers could. the careers that demand higher mathematics would be taught higher mathematics, the rest wouldn't, unless the student wanted it.

education would be cheap, efficient and appreciated. it wouldn't be leftist indoctrinating, slow, extraneous, largely ineffective and needlessly expensive thing that it is now.
