Pawnshops are for losers. Supreme Court said people have a Constitutional right to own and carry guns, that's why more guns. Actually a lot of the "we are doomed" crowd bought guns after Obama was elected because they were positive that the country would suffer massive race riots when he was inaugurated. Projection is a funny thing, and gets even weirder when it becomes the madness of crowds. Lots of things you can't know by looking at a chart. As I mentioned before, we are making a special effort to celebrate Chinese New Year because this is the Year of the Water Dragon, and I was born in the Year of the Water Dragon. I bought red lanterns and other party decorations at the local Chinese megamart, and we have been cooking symbolic foods and making symbolic displays with pomelos, oranges, tangerines with leaves on, Tray of Togetherness, etc. I was bemused at how much of the symbolism pertains to the desire for money. I expected the desire for longevity, family harmony, luck, good fortune, but not so much the money-money-money! But the funniest thing to this non-Chinese person -- I did not buy this -- next aisle from the party supplies, the joss items for funerals. Joss shirts with ties, joss cellphones, joss big screen TV, joss stacks of cash, and best of all, joss gold bars with raised letters HELLBANK. Why hellbank? I was looking for Door Gods but could not find them anywhere. I did find some little plaques of guys with swords, maybe they are Door Gods. Not sure what to do with them. And what is up with the little octagonal mirrors? Happy New Year to you and your family. May you have longevity, family harmony, luck, good fortune, and lots of money.
