No need to be paranoid or set up such a straw man. If anyone said that about all people who are "Christian" I would certainly never agree. And not all atheists are wonderful. However, by definition,conservative religious people start and end with assumptions that cannot be challenged with evidence, and obedience is protected by fear. Every atheist would change his/her mind with valid empirical and replicable experimental data. Taking matters "on faith" because they are told so by an authority, opens people up to all sorts of evil they do not challenge. There are aspects of the powerful centralized Christian movements throughout the last 2,000 years that are no more humane or " just" than was Hitler.... or Stalin or even Mao, doesn't really matter. God has been invoked to justify A-Z, justice-to-injustice, healing-to-genocide. There are the smaller spinoffs of total whackjobs like David Koresh for example who screwed pubescent girls and shot federal police in the name of the Lord. t is preposterous and intellectually vacant to ignore the dark side of the massive movements and niche religious groups, or say they are okay because Christian Church A isn't as evil as Muslim Church B -- or evil like "Christ Killer" or "Bolshevik Jews." Its all been used in the ends-justify-the-means power game. <<There are so many Christians here and they're just like Nazis and child sex abusers. >>
