" I'm just stating facts of what was previously just rumor and hearsay. Don't shoot the messenger."
At least get the message right--the release that I read said no more than $35 million, not $50 million, as you so graciously reported.

Judging from the email I used to get before the mail bombs started arriving, I think most people appreciate the flow of news on this thread like what you posted.

But you are right, there is a very vocal and very small minority that really does like to "shoot the messinger." It is ironic that they nail you for posting a news story confirming a rumour, while they once flamed me mercilessly for posting a "rumour" (the price wars) that was later very much confirmed by events.

Don't let this very small minority keep you from posting information that is negative, but still useful to the whole group. Otherwise these threads will just become a cheerleading section. Go Stock Go! Amd who needs that?

Happy Investing!

<Dale, the point is that I'm simply posting news.>

You posted...

<QNTM to take $50m one time charge.>

that's not news, it's a mistake.

Here's the truth....

The company confirmed that the non-recurring charge associated with those changes would be a maximum of $35 million after tax. Quantum also announced that MKQC, its heads operation jointly owned with MKE, is streamlining operations to help improve operating efficiency and lower the break-even point. The charge associated with the changes within MKQC is an additional $5 million after tax.

So don't whine about just being the messenger.

John

Chi-X, I wasn't angry, and I wasn't shooting at you.
I just wanted to get your opinion. Ok?
