Always a conspiratorialist in a crowd. But, taking this one further, if those were faux orders we could imply that those "in the know" were laying a trap. But they, knowing that we would perceive the trap, and thus take the opposite inference, set forth to actually sell into our short covering rally on Mon. AM.

Did I get that right? I wonder....

The only time I have seen buy imbalances made public like this is at the open on days that closed down. Never did understand why they bother. Also, there's no indication what price was desired. (I'd buy all of them if they were cheap enough!)
